Chandigarh University in Gharuan, which had already made its mark in the 2022 QS World University Rankings, has continued to perform exceptionally well in the 2023 rankings. This year, the university made its debut in the World Subject Rankings and was listed among the top universities in five subjects, including Business & Management Studies, Engineering & Technology, Computer Science and Information Systems, engineering-mechanical, and Hospitality and Leisure Management. During a press interaction, Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu revealed that the university had ranked globally in the range of 301-350 for Computer Science and Information Systems, placing it first in India and third among Indian private universities. Additionally, in the field of Mechanical Engineering, the university was ranked globally in the range of 401-450, placing it 12th in India and third among Indian private universities. Only 27 Indian universities made it into the QS World University Rankings 2023 in the subject of Computer Science and Information Systems.

Both NAAC and QS rank Chandigarh University as a top university in the world.
